My Process:
I began with a moodboard of movie poster images, then I began sketching possible designs for movie posters. I was quite interested in Dead Poet's Society, thinking of the scene when actor Robert Sean Leonard, whose character played Puck in a Midsummer Night's Dream, stands in front of his window shirtless, his Puck-crown on his head. After some consideration, I put that idea aside--that's not the scene you would want on a movie poster--and I decided to portray the character of Puck instead.
My design has the following thematic elements: the full moon, Puck, trees, and globes of light meant to symbolize fairies. I created this movie poster for an assignment in my program, but I have since put this design for sale in my Redbubble store where it has been purchased on t-shirts, stickers, and posters by people around the world.
